Dr. Abbott is a Hospitalist at Harborview Medical Center and an Acting Instructor of Medicine at the University of Washington.
Dr. Abbott earned her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her medical degree from New York University. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Washington, followed by a UW Chief Residency in Global Health, in Naivasha, Kenya. She is committed to Global Health, teaching, and clinical care. Dr. Abbott is interested in integrated health services and systems, and has worked as an expert reviewer and consultant for the World Health Organization. She works clinically in Hospital Medicine at Harborview and oversees students and residents in clinical practice. She is the UW IM Residency Program Global Health Pathway Director, and is the School of Medicine Global Health Pathway and Global Health Immersion Program (GHIP) Director. In these roles she advises and works closely with students and residents interested in careers in global health, and teaches courses on global health leadership for the clinician and global health fieldwork.
