Kristen Danforth is a Research Scientist in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Lecturer in the School of Public Health. Dr. Danforth’s research focuses on application of implementation science principles and methods to improve the delivery of health policies and programs in low- and middle-income countries, with a specialization in noncommunicable diseases. She leads the implementation science aims of the ADUNU trial (funded by NIH and Coefficient Giving), examining patient, provider, and systems determinants of successful detection and care of rheumatic heart disease within the public health system in Uganda. She also supports the American Heart Association Health Equity Research Network, co-developing a community health worker intervention to integrate echocardiographic screening in primary care settings for the White Mountain Apache Tribe in eastern Arizona. Dr. Danforth received her PhD in Global Health from the University of Washington, her MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and her BS in International Health from Georgetown University.
