  The Department's Global Medicine's Program reports on its work with the assessment of the  pharmacovigilance and drug regulatory systems in Bangladesh. 
Joseph Babigumira was awarded a grant from the UW School of Public Health and the UW Center for AIDS Research for a pilot study examining how monetary and non-monetary incentives influence the rate of circumcision among males in Uganda. They also have an update on the Gates-funded project to develop tools and field-test active  surveillance systems for identifying exposures to antimalarials during  early pregnancy and for monitoring pregnancy outcomes, thereby  contributing to making pregnancies safer. And they had a training to enhance the pharmacy assistant program in Malawi.
