The Department of Global Health (DGH) is delighted to welcome our new Director of Finance and Administration, Dana Panteleeff. Dana has a long and deep connection to UW and DGH. She joins us most recently from Bloodworks NW (Puget Sound Blood Center's current name) where she was Chief Operating Officer of their Research Institute. In that role, she was responsible for overall management of the organization, including driving the development and execution of the Institute's long- and short-range strategies, establishing and managing the Institute's annual budget, and general "keeping the wheels on the bus" of day-to-day operations.
We are deeply indebted to John Sutherland, who has served as our Interim Director of Finance and Administration since September 2016. He has worked with tremendous dedication, insight and energy over the last six months to make sure that this large and complex department functioned smoothly during a very exciting and busy period. Additionally, he's begun a much needed process of enhancing administrative systems as we continue to grow and enter our second decade, and we will miss him very much.
Prior to Bloodworks NW, Dana was Managing Director of the International Clinical Resource Center (ICRC) here in DGH, and her earliest role was as a technician in Julie Overbaugh's lab, working with Joan Kreiss. She has a BS in Microbiology and an MBA, both from the University of Washington, and she lives in Shoreline with her husband of nearly 20 years and their two children, Emily (nearly 16) and Alex (nearly 13).
