The 2024-25 Global Mental Health Speaker Series is a collaboration between the UW Consortium for Global Mental Health and the Population Health Initiative. This six-part speaker series will bring together experts on emerging topics in the field of global mental health. Subject matters include trauma rehabilitation, indigenous mental health, and caring for caregivers.

Staff, faculty, and students from all disciplines are welcome to attend this lunch & learn-style event.

Lectures will be held both in-person and via Zoom. For audience members joining in-person, there will be lunch provided. Lunch will start at 11:30am and speaking begins at 11:45am. Most events take place from 11:30am-1:00pm PT in HRC Room 101. See full list below for additional details on meeting times.

Our first lecture will take place on October 15th, 2024 with a talk from Dr. Haneen Shibli on Bedouin Mental Health in Israel. Members of the audience will have a chance to ask questions after the talk and meet Dr. Shibli.

We encourage you to bookmark and return to this page regularly throughout the academic year. Video recordings of each speaker series will be posted on this blog within a week after the event.

We hope you will join us for this great line-up of speakers!
