Celebrating our 2023 DGH Graduates

On Thursday, June 8, 2023, the UW Department of Global Health held its 16th annual graduation celebration since the department’s inception in 2007. This year we celebrated and honored the accomplishments of 64 graduates: 40 graduates in the Master of Public Health program and 24 doctoral students – which includes six from the Pathobiology PhD program and 18 from the Global Health Metrics and Implementation Science PhD program.

On Thursday, June 11, the University of Washington Department of Global Health took its annual graduation celebration online. The celebration honored 66 students, 57 of whom earned a Masters in Public Health (MPH), and 9 who earned a PhD in Pathobiology, Implementation Science, or Global Health Metrics. Fourteen medical students were also recognized for completing the Global Health pathway program, and 39 students were recognized for completing a minor in Global Health.

Department of Global Health Graduates Largest Class Ever

Wednesday, June 12, 2019 marked the 12th Department of Global Health graduation since the department’s founding in 2007. This year’s celebration saw a record number of students, as 74 students received their degrees, up from last year’s total of 56. Of the 74 graduates in the Class of 2019, 62 received Masters in Public Health and 12 earned PhDs in Global Health Implementation Science, Global Health Metrics, or Pathobiology.

Congratulations, 2017 Graduates!

On Wednesday, June 9, 2017, the Department of Global Health celebrated our tenth graduation since our founding in 2007. Over 150 students received degrees and certificates, including five graduates of the PhD programs, 43 graduates of the MPH program, 53 undergraduates with a Minor in Global Health, 32 graduates of the medical school on the Global Health Pathway, 11 Post-Bachelor Fellows, and 18 students that received a graduate certificate in Global Health.

This year, 182 people received degrees or certificates from the Department of Global Health. This includes the undergraduate minor, Masters and PhD programs, graduate certificates, and the Global Health Pathway for medical students.
